I've seen this thread before- where the Hack Prevention over-writes the character.Material.
I... don't know how to figure this out. The last person to have posted about this topic said they had solved it, but didn't give any explination.
Now I'm trying to make a preset and am having /almost/ the same problem...
I can have a preset, but it must be named 'Character' I know about the 'preset' file in LastMoon>Game and have edited that to include a preset (with help). But anything else, I just don't know what to do.

Well, I have an LM learner type .zip somewhere on my computer with instructions, and a ready-written .material file. If you want that, look here, and be sure to contact me with an issues. If you do not wish to use it, here are some instructions: First things first is that you need a material file, with the coding for you preset in it. My learner pack has a still, basic, preset coding in it. Anyhow, you can find a variety of codes for different presets here. When you have your preset code all written down in a notepad file (Just like feralheart), you need to check it meets the requirements: Your MAT part (example: goldchocoboMat/BodyMat) Where I have put your username (in the example. It'll probably be characterMat for you when you start) You need to put your username. You also need to place PS_ in front of that username name. The PS_ is to identify your mat is a preset.(Example: PS_NebulaMat). If you press ctrl and H at the same time, you can replace all of the characterMat (Or whatever MAT it shows up) with your character name. A screenshot would best describe this. (Note that my presets scrolls, so the coding will be different than a still preset)
Now, save your file in: LastMoon0.2>media>materials>scripts. Save it as: PS_charactername.MATERIAL - Where I have put charactername, you put your character name. All saved? Now, I /think/ you've saved your preset images, so I hope they are in the correct place if not: Make your preset. I have no other way of saying this, so there are a few UV's here. Click here for IT UV's. Also, noting on the UV's, the only body which uses the IT body UV is body3. The rest use the feralheart body UV.
Finished? Time to save your files now. If you go to the presets file (lastmoon0.2 - media - materials - textures - presets) you'll see lots of presets the players have made for the game. If you remember your .material, you should have put your username for the .png images. Like I have:
Looking back on the screenshot earlier, you can see those names in the coding. (ForestsStarsTex etc) Name your preset images as that, and ensure they are the same format (example; .jpg).
Done? Now to test your preset. In the LastMoon>Game folder, you will find preset.CAMPAIGN. Open that file with notepad. Once opened, you'll see something like this:
Things in red are the things that need to be changed. Where I have playername, put your username. You can see the variety of bodies. Change those to the body, head etc of your character. You can see the bodies, heads etc that your character uses on the character creator/editor ingame. You can also see PS_ForestsMat in there. Remember earlier, where I said about MATS? Remember yours? Replace it with the PS_goldchocoboMat that you typed in on your .MATERIAL file for your preset. Save the .campaign file in the same place.
Done. Now, if you have followed everything I said, and, if you have a correct .material coding, you can load up the game, and nothing will update. Once loaded, press testing, then press preset. As I said, if everything is correct, your preset will show up. If not, go back over the instructions, check formats are correct, and that the coding is correct. It took me a few tries to get it working. Also, feel free to edit your heart out.
Feel free to contact me on any issues you have with it, and maybe I could set up a join.me sometime to show you preset-making. Good luck!

Alright Thanks.
You've explained it much better, with the 'Preset tutorial' I found- it didn't say anything about a seperate Preset Mat you had to create. I'm a pretty good presetter- and once I've gotten use to the Head UVs, I'll be doing some awesome work.
Thank you so much again.
